Position Summary

Security Control Center positions provide expertise to the operations of the Vacaville Security Control Center, including aspects of NERC compliance. Jobs in this job family work with key Line of Business contacts and build strong relationships to address potential issues which could affect PG&E’s ability to remain in NERC compliance. Incumbents provide oversight of the Vacaville Security Control Center, including assigned PG&E Vacaville Security Control Operators and contract security personnel. Incumbents oversee the Corporate Security Department’s role in operating the company’s personnel electronic access control system.

Security Control Center also partners with contract guards and third monitoring companies as an extension of Security Control Center activities.

Our ideal candidate would have past call center experience possibly, maybe a past shift lead in an Emergency Center or Security Operations (not a past security guard, not the same)…ability to shift between multiple priorities during the shift using multiple technologies (AMAG/Access Control, Genetec / Camera System, NC4/Incident intel, Monitor Twitter, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee and coordinate operations at the 24x7 PG&E Vacaville Security Control Center
  • Maintain quality control and monitoring of all SCC products, reports and equipment
  • Directly responsible for day to day Security Technology Services, break-fix tickets, operations, trainings, gathering and reporting out metrics and other intelligence related items
  • Accountable for system health monitoring of security related equipment and programs
  • Participate in developing, implementing and executing security procedures including coordination of training program for existing and new Security Control Center Operators
  • Able to make decisions surrounding routine, escalated and critical incidents
  • Operate computer systems, radio consoles, enhanced telephone systems, video monitoring systems, access control programs, Incident Report and ticket tracking system, and other associated security equipment (to include use of Microsoft Office products)
  • Provide strong subject matter expertise daily that demonstrates work ethic that fosters teamwork, trust, respect, commitment and accountability
  • Handle security-related calls from the field to VSCC, for assistance/resolution
  • Responsible for using sound judgement in following and applying appropriate policies and procedures
  • Collect, analyze and share intelligence to support Corporate Security investigations
  • Work collectively with other LOBs daily
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, co-workers, supervisors, and inter- and intra- department personnel


Minimum Qualifications:

Security Experience

Willingness to work in a 24/7 operations center with rotating shifts

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Must be able to qualify for NERC/CIP clearance

Ability to travel up to 10% of working time

Military experience

Law/Fire/EMS Dispatch experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
